About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our Ground Systems Development (GSD) Systems Engineering (SE) team, you will play a critical role in the development of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex systems models and simulations to support the THAAD Fire Control and Communications (TFCC) design
  • Analyze performance and support verification of the TFCC system
  • Develop and maintain analysis scripts to support system testing and field deployments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system requirements are met and verified
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and team members
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience using or developing systems models or simulations to perform system trade studies, requirements decomposition, performance predictions, and algorithm prototype development
  • Scripting language experience (e.g., MATLAB, C, C++, etc.)
  • Knowledge and application of systems engineering processes across the full product life cycle
  • Experience working on large-scale software development and supporting weapon system ground/flight test, verification processes, and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense Concepts and Interoperability or other Command and Control systems
  • Systems Engineering or related experience/education in concept of operations (CONOPS)/system architecting, requirements definition or decomposition, requirements and verification, algorithm development/model base engineering/design knowledge
  • Engineering/physics-based modeling and simulation preferably with MATLAB, C, C+ tools
  • Experience working on an agile team and supporting flight test performance analysis and issue resolution

This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
