About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Member Service Representative to join our team at Navy Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, ensuring their needs are met, and exceeding their expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and resolve complex member account and loan issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist members with submitting loan and credit card applications, providing guidance and support throughout the process.
  • Counsel members on Navy Federal's products and services, identifying opportunities to cross-sell and increase product penetration.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient handling of cash and other negotiable instruments.
  • Perform platform banking functions, including analyzing and resolving member account discrepancies.
  • Assist lower-level team members, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on federal and other regulations related to financial products and services.
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of savings and checking products, accounts, and services.
  • May be required to participate in specialized training programs, such as Business Services, IRA, MLO, and notary.
  • Effective active listening skills, with the ability to accurately respond to member inquiries and account requests.
  • Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions.
  • Effective skill building relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment.
  • Effective skill maintaining composure in a high-production and changing environment.
  • Effective skill navigating multiple screens and PC applications, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Effective skill performing mathematical calculations and working accurately with numbers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in member/customer service, preferably in a call center, retail banking, or financial institution.
  • Experience working in a credit union environment.
