Job Overview

Position Summary:
A vital role within the Communications Division, the CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of equipment and personnel to various project locations. This position may involve local travel, with occasional requirements for weekend work. Comprehensive training will be provided to the selected candidate, ensuring they are well-prepared for the responsibilities ahead.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate company vehicles, including heavy trucks, to transport equipment and crew to job sites.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and ensure safety.
  • Plan and execute routes while adhering to delivery schedules in collaboration with project managers.
  • Follow all truck driving regulations and company policies regarding size, weight, and route designations.
  • Maintain accurate logs of work/rest periods and driving distances, retaining necessary receipts.
  • Promptly report any defects, accidents, or violations to management.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of materials and equipment as required.
  • Ensure all loads are secured in compliance with safety standards to prevent damage.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to complete tasks effectively and safely.
Physical and Environmental Standards:
  • Must be capable of engaging in physical activities such as climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Work is primarily outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions and potential hazards.
Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Mandatory: A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is essential.
  • Experience with bobcats and excavators is advantageous but not necessary.
