Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will provide financial support to our Tribally owned 8(a) companies and play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries and financial reports.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of our accounting operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and process customer invoices, including CPFF, T&M, and FFP contracts.
  • Code and process vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review and process employee expenses, including travel and entertainment expenses.
  • Assist external auditors and tax accountants with year-end preparations, including the preparation of schedules and supporting materials.
  • Assist project management with financial reports and analysis.
  • Respond to requests from team members and manage deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Solid understanding of government contract accounting and proficiency in Costpoint.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, and enterprise systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, discretion, and strong ethics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and client requirements.
  • Experience with 8(a) companies, particularly with Tribal or Alaska Native Corporations, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction accounting is a plus.

Travel:

Limited travel may be required for this position.
