Physical Requirements
Work involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be capable of lifting and supporting weights up to 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English communication is required. Must possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity. Critical thinking and the ability to concentrate are essential. Must be able to respond promptly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing is required.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. A minimum of one year of nursing experience in a specialty area is necessary. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification per American Heart Association standards is mandatory.
A valid RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is required. If declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as the primary state of residency, compliance with licensure requirements in the home state is necessary; for Non-National License Compact states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state of practice.
Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be mandated within the department by the nurse leader.
Compliance with the criteria for advancement, maintenance, approved certification, and nursing education as outlined in the Professional Nurse Clinical Advancement Program is expected.

Demonstrates understanding of growth and development principles and possesses the skills and competencies appropriate to the ages, cultures, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
