The Commercial Loan Processing Expert plays a vital role in overseeing the management of commercial loan processing requests. The expert will ensure a high standard of customer service for both internal team members and external commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Management:

  • Uphold and comply with the LGE Community Credit Union Loan Policy and Procedures.
  • Communicate with Commercial Loan Officers regarding outstanding items necessary for file processing in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Deliver exceptional service quality.
  • Obtain credit reports, flood certifications, and coordinate title work with legal representatives.
  • Prepare loan documentation for closings promptly, ensuring completeness prior to the closing process.

Loan Operations:

  • Examine loan documents to confirm all required signatures are obtained and all paperwork is returned, completing a loan documentation checklist and entering the loan into the Core system.
  • Record closed loans in the Core system.
  • Verify the accuracy of the Core system and complete a checklist, ensuring cross-verification among loan specialists.
  • Process payments, draws, and principal reductions.
  • Handle loan payoffs and participation loan processing.
  • Engage in SBA loan processing.
  • Conduct daily loan general ledger balancing as assigned.
  • Perform approved maintenance on loan records.
  • Monitor loans for accurate coding and servicing.
  • Process paid loans and cancel any necessary recorded documentation.

Collateral Oversight:

  • Ensure timely processing of signed documents for recording.
  • Prepare loan packages for imaging.
  • Guarantee that all documentation is accurately imaged and stored in the Synergy Imaging system.
  • Oversee and resolve loan tracking and exceptions.
  • Maintain organized and secure loan files.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Foster teamwork by balancing individual and team responsibilities, welcoming feedback, and contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues at all levels to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, completing administrative tasks accurately and timely, supporting the organization's goals and values.
  • May assist in training new employees on loan processing.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies relevant to this role.
  • Stay informed about lending compliance requirements.
  • Participate in the monthly submission of the 1502 SBA report and collaborate on any SBA loan-related issues.
  • Engage in core issues such as maintenance, billing corrections, and research.
  • Support other roles within the department as needed.
  • Review daily reports in Synergy.
  • Occasionally travel to other locations as necessary to meet with lenders or transport documentation.
  • Follow all established policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial loan processing and operations within a credit union or financial institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience with necessary commercial loan documentation and regulations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient phone etiquette, computer skills, and typing abilities.
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive team relationships.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
