About the Role

Pacific Service Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Host Systems Manager to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing, supporting, and performing operations of the online and batch processing environments, as well as all associated peripheral equipment and connections for the core financial processing system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, automate, and audit all batch and online processing to optimize delivery channel access, production quality, and system security.
  • Lead computer operations staff and daily processing operations in support of the credit union's requirements for operational quality and timely information distribution.
  • Define procedures and processes for problem resolution and support.
  • Act as point of contact for the escalation of operational events, evaluating business impacts, identifying event types, coordinating resolution and response as needed.
  • Assist in the development of standard operational procedures for the organization.
  • Perform major troubleshooting and diagnostic routines to identify problems relating to hardware, applications, software, and host communications.
  • Develop and maintain system updates and documentation, as well as recovery procedures for system error handling and processing disruptions.
  • Provide support to users for software and hardware problems for both the host system and online application environment.
  • Act as primary liaison to our current credit union services provider for all user-related, application processing, or connectivity issues.
  • Track, research, and resolve problems submitted by users from other departments.
  • Train computer operations staff in day-to-day processing functions, as well as advanced computing techniques as appropriate.
  • Supervise all computer operations staff and daily processing of the data center.
  • Coordinate output generation, reviewing for accuracy, and distributing credit union reports as needed.
  • Act as backup for computer operations staff, as needed.
  • Assist with end-of-month/quarter/year processing as needed.
Requirements
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Technology or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Three to five years of increasing experience in managing teams and related disciplines, including information systems, personal computers, data processing operations, training, and database management, preferably in a credit union or other financial institution environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience with the IBM AIX Unix servers, including line or GUI editor utility, output queue and OS management utilities, job queue and file management utilities, and 'hands-on' experience on the Symitar EPISYS software platform or similar core system in a credit union environment.
  • Knowledge of RepGens (Power-Ons) development methodologies desirable.
  • HTML, Java, SQL scripting, etc., a definite plus.
  • In-depth understanding of back and front-office processes, third-party product interfaces.
