Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to enhance our operational and strategic initiatives within the supply chain department. This role is essential for managing procurement activities that support our cGMP manufacturing programs and overall objectives. The Procurement Specialist will oversee all purchasing and sourcing functions for both internal and external gene therapy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily procurement operations, including issuing purchase orders, maintaining supplier communications, and tracking order statuses.
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure timely updates on lead times and delivery schedules.
  • Facilitate and lead internal meetings to streamline sourcing processes for equipment and materials.
  • Organize regular meetings with key suppliers to review open orders and address any issues.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with performance standards and pursue avenues for acquiring cGMP-compliant products.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to generate and present bi-weekly reports on pharmaceutical backorders.
  • Assist in establishing a lab inventory management system, including setting reorder points and safety stock levels.
  • Utilize industry insights to identify new manufacturers and enhance product availability.
  • Work with Supply Chain Management to assess and negotiate favorable supply agreements.
  • Support the Supplier Quality team in vendor evaluations and compliance checks.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to resolve any pricing or invoicing discrepancies.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to company policies in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Analysts and Operations Planners to ensure adequate product supply for operations.
  • Develop recurring orders for frequently needed items to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or purchasing.
  • Experience in the biopharmaceutical sector or regulated supply chain environments is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to support production and product transfer needs.
  • Proficient in various ERP/MRP systems.
