Role Overview:

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to enhance our operational and strategic supply chain functions. This position is crucial in managing all purchasing and sourcing activities for both internal and external gene therapy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate daily procurement operations, including issuing purchase orders, maintaining supplier communications, and tracking order statuses.
  • Engage with suppliers to confirm lead times and delivery schedules.
  • Organize and lead internal meetings to support sourcing efforts for equipment and materials.
  • Conduct regular open order meetings with key suppliers.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with performance standards and pursue avenues for acquiring compliant products.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to generate and present bi-weekly backorder reports.
  • Assist in establishing a lab inventory management system, including reorder points and safety stock levels.
  • Utilize industry insights to identify new manufacturers and enhance product availability.
  • Work with Supply Chain Management to assess and negotiate supply agreements.
  • Support vendor evaluations and assist in gathering necessary information for supplier quality assessments.
  • Coordinate with finance to resolve any pricing or invoicing issues.
  • Maintain professionalism and ethical standards in line with company policies.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Analysts and Operations Planners to ensure adequate product procurement.
  • Develop long-term purchasing agreements for frequently ordered items to guarantee uninterrupted supply.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or purchasing.
  • Experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or regulated supply chains is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work hours that support production and product transfer activities.
  • Proficient in various ERP/MRP systems.
  • Occasional travel may be required (
