Position Overview:

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to enhance our operational capabilities. This role is crucial in managing the strategic and logistical aspects of our supply chain, directly supporting our cGMP manufacturing initiatives. The Procurement Specialist will oversee all procurement activities for both internal and external gene therapy projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily procurement operations, including issuing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, and tracking order statuses.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and compliance.
  • Lead internal meetings focused on sourcing equipment and materials necessary for GMP and research programs.
  • Organize regular updates with key suppliers to discuss open orders and performance metrics.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with cGMP standards and actively seek compliant product sources.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to generate and distribute bi-weekly reports on pharmaceutical backorders.
  • Assist in implementing a Kan-Ban inventory system to optimize stock management.
  • Utilize industry insights to identify new manufacturing partners and enhance product availability.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain Management to negotiate favorable supply agreements.
  • Support the Supplier Quality team in vendor evaluations and compliance checks.
  • Assist the finance team in resolving any pricing or invoicing issues.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to company policies in all interactions.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Analysts to ensure adequate product availability for operations.
  • Develop long-term procurement strategies for frequently ordered items to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or purchasing.
  • Experience in the biopharmaceutical sector or regulated supply chains is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work hours that align with production needs.
  • Proficient in various ERP/MRP systems.
  • Occasional travel (
