Job Description

Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Material Requirements Planning Manager to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, coordinating with manufacturing and procurement teams, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve product-related issues and incorporate customer and business requirements
  • Manage day-to-day activities of inventory administration staff, including interviewing, hiring, and training and development of associates
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, including loss prevention procedures and practices
  • Participate in planning inventory and defining optimal inventory levels and adjustment authority, monitoring inventory levels
  • Analyze and troubleshoot planned production scheduling problems, recommending process improvements to optimize team efficiency and scheduling process
  • Create and manage complex production schedules, reviewing workflow of production workers, inventory levels, capacity constraints, machine breakdowns, product quality, etc. to ensure operational excellence
  • Provide inputs to the Sales and Operations Planning cycle, including supply commitments based on overall capacity in the supply chain

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices, including supply chain management and logistics
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
