Position Overview

The Lead Business Intelligence (BI) Architect is responsible for delivering technical knowledge and development assistance for enterprise-level programs and applications, engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements. This role encompasses all stages of the BI development lifecycle and, as a project leader, oversees the comprehensive requirements collection, design, development, ETL processes, and access methods, adhering to established protocols and practices. The position entails production support and upkeep of data warehouses, addressing intricate programming or interface challenges. The Lead BI Architect collaborates with the team to enhance system performance and ensure interoperability. Specifically, this role includes code development, data extraction and summarization routines, preparation of relevant documentation, and facilitating testing and validation throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Four (4) years of experience in software systems development and programming
  • Two (2) years of experience in data warehousing or business intelligence
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
Essential Skills:
  • Experience:
    • in diverse BI environments and familiarity with BI tools
    • with structured design, development, and implementation of new computing architectures
    • with various data sources (SAP, dashboards, OLAP, data mining tools, SQL, Oracle, Flat Files, Excel, etc.)
    • in cross-functional team settings
  • Strong metadata and problem-solving abilities
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders (e.g., subject-matter experts, vendors, customers) on a wide range of applications and infrastructure to identify and resolve issues
  • Proven ability to manage enterprise-level services, including version control systems, relational databases, web servers, or other complex applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on documentation and collaboration with those supporting and utilizing complex applications and systems
  • Knowledge of:
    • databases, data mining, and data warehousing systems
    • application functionality, operating systems, and foundational infrastructure
