Position Overview:

The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) is responsible for ensuring adherence to Air Force/DoD cybersecurity regulations, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Risk Management Framework (RMF), corporate policies, and other contractual security obligations. The ISSO will develop, implement, and maintain System Security Plans, conduct architectural analyses, and manage security controls, vulnerability management plans, and other necessary documentation for government clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular system audits, self-assessments, and thorough investigations of cybersecurity incidents.
  • Deliver ongoing security training for staff, system users, and administrators.
  • Implement IT security principles and configure security settings for classified computing systems and networks across various operating environments, including Servers/Clients, Windows, LINUX, and LAN management.
  • Conduct vulnerability scans, compile data, prepare risk assessments and mitigation strategies, and develop testing procedures for software and hardware.
  • Lead the integration and analysis of classified computing systems and networks in secure configurations.
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Network Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), and Tenable Network Security Nessus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • DoD 8570 certification in CompTIA Security+ CE, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Leadership Certificate (GSLC), Certification Authorization Professional (CAP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) is required within six months of employment.
  • Experience as an Information Systems Security Manager or Officer, including systems security plan development.
  • Experience in Assessment and Authorization processes.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract obligations.

Security Responsibilities:

Adhere to all company security and data protection policies. Responsible for the proper handling and marking of all information and materials. Confidentiality is paramount; do not disclose information to unauthorized personnel or outside the company without management consent. All government and proprietary information must be stored electronically on company resources.

  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this role include:

  • Eligibility for Top Secret DoD Security Clearance.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Capability to access simulator devices and reach difficult areas.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Focused visual concentration and active listening skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 35 pounds, with manual dexterity for bending and stooping.
  • Occasional movement of items over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Prolonged use of a personal computer.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
