Job Overview

As a Culinary Operations Leader, you will guide your team towards excellence, ensuring optimal performance and outstanding quality, such as maximizing yield and minimizing waste. Your focus will be on strategic planning and continuous improvement, overseeing multiple units to achieve success. You will collaborate across various departments, creating a vision for your team and fostering an environment conducive to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance team capabilities by identifying individual growth opportunities and addressing them proactively.
  • Monitor employee attendance, tardiness, and overtime, providing timely feedback for improvement.
  • Optimize staffing levels to manage labor costs effectively.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback and implementing development plans for team members.
  • Oversee payroll submissions and ensure accuracy.
  • Guide and mentor team leads, developing their supervisory skills.
  • Create and manage staffing schedules efficiently.
  • Coach team members to halt processes when quality concerns arise.
  • Assess employees' readiness for skill advancement and increased responsibilities.
  • Facilitate problem-solving meetings, engaging employees in developing solutions for production challenges.
  • Provide continuous feedback to motivate and enhance individual performance.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for both temporary and permanent positions.
  • Encourage and inspire employees to achieve and surpass targets.
  • Approve time-off requests while ensuring operational needs are met.
  • Regularly review production schedules to adjust staffing as necessary.
  • Ensure product quality standards are met, preventing substandard items from being processed.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement, maximizing yield, and minimizing waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of leftover materials.
  • Conduct audits to ensure adherence to established procedures and communicate results positively.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to address equipment issues promptly.
  • Initiate and follow up on necessary work orders.
  • Compile departmental reports covering material usage, waste, downtime, and attendance.
  • Manage non-inventory supply items effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce labor costs.
  • Document standard operating procedures for training and consistency.
  • Work with other departments to resolve issues related to quality, safety, and production.
  • Maintain comprehensive training records for employees.
  • Generate weekly and monthly performance reports.
  • Analyze operational metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Meet regularly with team members to discuss performance against objectives.
  • Coordinate with training personnel to ensure effective employee development.
  • In the absence of leadership, ensure continuity of operations through designated team leads.

All employees are expected to uphold the mission of Amy's Kitchen, adhering to food safety and quality policies and participating in required training.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee kitchen staff and operations.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in food production or manufacturing.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong active listening, relationship-building, and conflict resolution abilities.

Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate, coach, and guide team members towards achieving their goals.
