Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Child Care Regulation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting advanced investigations and inspections of unregulated child care facilities in accordance with state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct complex investigations and inspections of unregulated child care facilities
  • Compile, review, and analyze information to identify unregulated child care operations
  • Initiate investigations of unregulated facilities and oversee follow-up actions
  • Establish priorities and methods for securing evidence of unregulated child care operations
  • Prepare and process exemptions to determine compliance with regulations
  • Balance enforcing laws, rules, and regulations to respond to high-risk allegations
  • Oversee investigations of complaints, serious incidents, and reports of unregulated child care facilities
  • Provide training and technical assistance to child care providers on minimum standards, rules, and laws
  • Communicate with parents, providers, and the general public about unregulated child care operations
  • Lead community efforts and participate in activities to inform the public about unregulated child care operations
Requirements:
  • Regulatory experience in compliance with law, rules, and policy
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to strategically plan and manage outcomes covering a large geographic area
  • Ability to analyze and use data to improve outcomes
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate independent judgment
Working Conditions:

This position requires regular attendance and may involve travel to various locations throughout the state.
