Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular inspections of residential child-care facilities to ensure compliance with state regulations and minimum standards.
• Investigate complaints and incidents related to child-care facilities, and take enforcement actions as necessary to protect the health and safety of children.
• Evaluate new applications for child-care facilities and issue licenses in accordance with state law and regulations.
• Provide training and technical assistance to child-care providers on issues related to minimum standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure the effective regulation of child-care facilities.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, education, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Texas laws and regulations related to child-care and child abuse/neglect.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and quality assurance.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the state.
