POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Lead is tasked with supervising and directing a team of production personnel to meet objectives while upholding exceptional quality standards. This position demands a blend of technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and strong communication skills to foster team achievement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with management on workforce scheduling, labor productivity, operational guidelines, and output rates.
  • Work alongside other team leaders and supervisors to promote cross-training initiatives; enhance employee skill sets across various functions.
  • Establish and enforce operational guidelines to ensure staff knowledge and precision are consistently updated.
  • Coordinate with procurement, production planning, and logistics to ensure accurate inventory management for all components.
  • Communicate effectively regarding maintenance needs and oversee the repair and replacement of necessary supplies.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor, demonstrating and teaching desirable practices and competencies.
  • Serve as the primary contact and support resource for team members, addressing and resolving any challenges they may face.
  • Execute additional related or unrelated tasks as assigned through practical training.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a combination of education and experience is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing or distribution environment with some leadership duties is necessary.
  • Preferred experience includes 3-5 years in a manufacturing or distribution setting with leadership responsibilities.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

  • Serves as a working team member who coordinates, supports, trains, and acts as a knowledge resource for colleagues. No direct supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This role requires medium physical effort: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or frequently to move objects.

  • This position involves various physical activities, including climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

VISUAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Close visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as data analysis, transcription, computer usage, extensive reading, visual inspection of small components, and operation of machinery.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Employees may be exposed to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards typical of a production environment.
