Position: Certified Medical Coding Specialist

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Compensation: $23 - $25 per hour

Role Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Coding Specialist to enhance our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team. This position is essential for ensuring accurate claims coding, conducting billing reviews, establishing policies, and providing staff training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately assign codes and sequence them according to government and insurance regulations.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of claims to ensure compliance with established coding guidelines and best practices.
  • Verify the accuracy of billable services by examining patient charts, claims, and relevant policies.
  • Offer training and support to team members and healthcare practitioners regarding billing procedures and coding standards.
  • Propose and implement strategic protocols for coding reviews and necessary modifications.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including Compliance and Contracting, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Stay informed on the latest coding requirements and best practices through ongoing education and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Certification in medical coding and billing (CPC Certification required).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical coding within RCM.
  • A background in behavioral health is advantageous.
  • Experience with NextGen or similar Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff, management, and external partners.

Compensation Details: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour
