Position Title: Medical Billing Specialist

Company: LHH Recruitment Solutions

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing follow-up and collections, as well as gathering essential information for efficient claims processing.

Location: This position is based in Phoenix, AZ and requires full-time onsite presence.



Compensation: $21-24 per hour, with potential for a sign-on bonus.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6am-4pm, with flexibility.

Job Type: Direct Hire



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign codes to medical procedures and diagnoses for billing and reimbursement.
  • Gather and verify patient information, including demographics and insurance details.
  • Compile and submit claims to insurance companies and government entities.
  • Pursue unpaid claims, resolve denials, and resubmit claims as necessary.
  • Engage with patients to address billing inquiries and discuss payment options.
  • Stay updated on healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and billing practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and patient data.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations regarding billing and privacy.
  • Demonstrate expertise in insurance collections, including negotiating payment plans.
  • Handle patient communications to support collection efforts and address concerns.
  • Conduct thorough account reviews, including researching missing information and updating records.
  • Possess knowledge of HCPCS, CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes, along with medical terminology.
  • Understand billing requirements for various payers and assist in staff education.
  • Communicate effectively with payers regarding outstanding claims and payment issues.
  • Adhere to the Company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) policies.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Undergraduate degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing and collections required.
  • Basic proficiency in Excel is required.
