Job Summary

As a Director of Housekeeping, you will be responsible for managing the housekeeping functions and staff to ensure the property's guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean and well-maintained. This role involves directing and working with the team to successfully execute all housekeeping operations, striving to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction, and maximizing the financial performance of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage housekeeping operations, including inventory management, staff supervision, and guest room maintenance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with the front office team to ensure effective communication and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with housekeeping policies and standards.
  • Manage departmental costs, including budgeting and ordering of guestroom and cleaning supplies.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related field preferred.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or a related field; no work experience required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Benefits

Marriott International offers a competitive salary range of $68,000 to $94,000 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Additionally, Marriott offers a bonus program, employee stock purchase plan, and other incentives.
