Position Overview:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will administer ionizing radiation in alignment with the directives and guidance of the Radiation Oncologist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the prescribed course of therapy accurately under the mentorship of experienced professionals.
  • Conduct simulation and tumor localization procedures with oversight.
  • Ensure care orders are effectively scheduled, executed, and documented within the electronic medical record.
  • Capture weekly portal images for treatment validation and obtain physician approval.
  • Document patient interactions and treatment field images in the patient chart.
  • Verify patient and chart identification, prepare the treatment environment, and set up immobilization devices, blocks, and tattoos with guidance.
  • Facilitate weekly consultations with the Oncologist, increasing frequency as needed based on treatment complications.
  • Adhere to established Radiation Safety Standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience
  • 0-1 years of experience in Radiation Therapy.
Education
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy program is required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Temporary Radiation Therapist License (Oregon) or full Radiation Therapist License (Oregon) within three months of employment.
  • Basic Life Support certification within one month of employment.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification in Radiation Therapy within three months of employment.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with linear accelerators and simulators, as well as proficiency in a Record and Verify system.
  • Ability to administer radiation treatments seamlessly according to prescriptions while managing multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with immobilization devices is essential.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and current Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations is necessary.
  • Strong teamwork, organizational, and customer service skills are crucial.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with HDR, SRS, and IMRT treatment modalities.
  • Skills in designing and creating blocks and immobilization devices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Varian Linear accelerators with MLC, Varis Record and Verify system, and CT simulation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiation Oncology is advantageous.
