Job Overview

The Catering Services Supervisor is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all facets of catering operations and special events within the organization.

This position will guide the Catering team to successfully execute events or catering delivery requests in accordance with client expectations and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement catering solutions tailored to meet client needs.
  • Establish and nurture effective relationships with clients and customers.
  • Ensure consistent quality in the planning and execution of events.
  • Oversee the delivery of prepared meals and the setup of events based on banquet event orders.
  • Assist clients in organizing special events while providing innovative solutions to their requirements.
  • Train and mentor catering staff to uphold catering and event standards, ensuring high-quality final presentations.
  • Provide completed Banquet Event Orders to the team and ensure all requests are fulfilled prior to the event.
  • Accountable for achieving food and labor targets.
  • Manage the execution of catering events of various sizes, including staffing and operational oversight.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of all catering-related revenue, expenses, and receivables.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, occupational, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a management capacity, including leading salaried managers.
  • Experience in a higher education environment and/or large-scale catering events is preferred.
  • Previous experience in events, hospitality, and catering is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is necessary.
  • Availability to work flexible, event-based hours.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.
  • Completion of Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
