About the Role:

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our occupational therapists to provide high-quality care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan, under the supervision of an occupational therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan, under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
  • Provide, monitor, and record therapy services to patients with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments.
  • Select, implement, and make modifications to therapeutic activities and interventions that are consistent with demonstrated competency levels, patient goals, and the requirements of the practice setting and/or state licensure.
  • Contribute to the process by exchanging information with and providing documentation to the occupational therapist about the patient's responses to and communications during intervention.
  • Be knowledgeable about the patient's targeted occupational therapy outcomes and provide information and documentation related to outcome achievement.
  • Follow and adhere to accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice.
  • Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), when working at a Sanford Health Facility.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.
