  4. Manage incoming calls at the main office, providing assistance as needed.
  5. Collect and input data for vital records, including birth and death certificates.
  6. Collaborate effectively with colleagues in the Health Information Management department.
  7. Extract relevant information from medical records for review purposes.
  8. Monitor and address deficiencies, notifying specialists of outstanding items for completion.
  9. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols for patients and visitors.
  10. Maintain compliance with governing body standards in the work environment.
  11. Handle tasks that may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  12. Utilize patient safety tools to promote a safe environment for patients and staff.
  13. Regular attendance at the designated work location is essential.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  1. Proficient in the use of standard office equipment and software; capable of reading and interpreting reports and regulations.
  2. Preferred experience of at least one year in the health information management sector.
  3. Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
  4. Basic Life Support certification is required within six months of employment.
  5. Ability to produce professional-level reports and correspondence.
  6. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  7. Demonstrate problem-solving skills with analytical and logical reasoning.
  8. Respond effectively to inquiries and complaints from patients and regulatory bodies.
  9. Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  10. Organize and present information clearly to various audiences.
  11. Complete required training on standard precaution protocols.
Work Environment:
  1. Office setting with adequate lighting and ventilation, minimal exposure to excessive noise or dust.
  2. Frequent interruptions may occur.
  3. Auditory ability sufficient to hear telephone calls and conversations.
  4. Vision capabilities to read computer screens and medical records.
  5. Significant desk time, requiring fine motor skills for various tasks.
