Position Overview

Cambridge Public Schools is a vibrant, diverse community where innovation and education thrive. As an Instructional Support Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

About the Role

As an Instructional Support Associate, you will work closely with special educators to implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and provide assistance with instruction. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to students with disabilities during non-instructional activities
  • Supervising students with disabilities during transitions
  • Collaborating with general education, special education, and related services staff
  • Accommodating and modifying instruction to meet the needs of students with disabilities
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by the special educator or supervisor

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically
  • Experience working with students in urban environments
  • Flexibility and patience
  • Willingness to be trained in de-escalation and safe physical restraint techniques
  • Ability to work on the floor and move around the room to support students and teachers

Salary Estimate
