Position Title: Senior Safety Specialist

Job Overview:
As a Senior Safety Specialist, you will oversee and manage a comprehensive range of safety services and initiatives. Your role will involve implementing and facilitating training for employees, contractors, and the public on established policies, procedures, and safe work practices to ensure a secure working environment. You will ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards, while continuously improving processes to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and coordinate safety compliance programs, staying updated on regulatory changes to maintain alignment with laws and internal policies.
  • Conduct thorough safety inspections at facilities and job sites, collaborating with leadership to address any identified issues.
  • Facilitate necessary compliance functions, including noise monitoring and respiratory fit testing.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, providing actionable recommendations for corrective measures.
  • Prepare detailed reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders, assisting with compliance documentation.
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal safety committees and represent the organization in safety-related forums.
  • Design and deliver safety training sessions for various audiences, ensuring compliance with educational requirements.
  • Utilize technical expertise to resolve safety-related issues promptly, with the authority to halt unsafe practices.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in safety management.
  • Alternatively, candidates with at least 9 years of relevant experience without an associate degree will be considered.
  • Must obtain OSHA 30-hour Outreach Training for Construction within the initial employment period.

Skills Required:
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and electric utility safety standards.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using various software applications for documentation and reporting.

Work Environment:
The role involves working in diverse environments, including office settings, industrial plants, and field locations. Physical demands may include site visits requiring personal protective equipment and the ability to lift safety-related materials.
