Position Summary

Compensation: $13.00 per hour

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee designated public areas, including streets, parking lots, and garages, to ensure adherence to parking regulations.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by responding to inquiries about directions, events, and parking policies.
  • Utilize a handheld device or manual tickets to issue citations and warnings for parking violations. Manage vehicle impoundment, booting, or relocation as necessary.
  • Work independently while exercising sound judgment and diplomacy in interactions with the public.
  • Support maintenance personnel with tasks related to parking infrastructure, including inspections, repairs, and upkeep of parking meters and signage.
  • Assist in the secure collection of revenue from parking meters and other payment systems.
  • Collaborate with event staff to facilitate parking operations during events, including setup, traffic management, and payment processing.
  • Provide support to office staff during peak permit sales periods, including data entry and customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Note: Enforcement Officers do not possess police authority and cannot make arrests.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Parking Compliance Officer position should possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Familiarity with the local geography.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and hazard awareness.
  • Proficiency in using handheld technology.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle or bicycle safely.
  • Comprehension of parking regulations and enforcement procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for courteous interactions.
  • Capability to walk for extended durations.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of hire.

Work Availability: Shift requirements may vary based on location needs, including potential evening, night, and weekend shifts.

License Requirement: A valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required for those expected to operate a company vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This position involves regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for various tasks. Employees will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation.

Employees must remain vigilant in potentially hazardous traffic situations and prioritize safety at all times.
