About the Role

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled BH Crisis Services Clinician I to join our team in the Crisis Consult Liaison Service. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culturally Appropriate Assessments: Conduct diagnostic assessments, lethality screens, and other mental health evaluations to ensure accurate and comprehensive care.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Provide brief interventions, care coordination, safety planning, and other therapeutic interventions to assigned patients.
  • Discharge Planning: Recommend disposition for the least restrictive level of care, utilizing case consultation, supervision, and staffing as needed.
  • Crisis Intervention: Employ NCH-approved strategies of crisis intervention and de-escalation that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and program expectations.
  • Mandatory Reporting: Initiate mandatory reporting of abuse and/or neglect to Child Protective Services or other applicable agencies per Ohio law.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Facilitate and/or participate in safety care huddles, treatment team meetings, and other appropriate interdisciplinary meetings related to patient care.
  • Training and Education: Facilitate training to staff and providers of NCH-approved crisis management training and de-escalation techniques.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited university or professional school.
  • Licensure: Appropriate Ohio counseling (LPC) or social work (LSW) licensure required; independent licensure preferred.
  • Certifications: Upon hire, must complete and pass NCH-endorsed Crisis Management Training.
  • Skills: Demonstrated skills in providing behavioral health assessment and treatment to children and adolescents, ability to work well with minimal direction, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Experience: Experience with training or instruction in group settings preferred, previous experience in working with children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
