The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Clinician to join our Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive mental health and substance use evaluations, crisis assessments, and short-term psychotherapy to patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough mental health and substance use evaluations, crisis assessments, and short-term psychotherapy sessions with patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Link patients and families with inpatient, partial, and outpatient services for adults through Harding Hospital and other community services.
- Provide education and support to patients and families on mental health and substance use issues.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling or related field.
- Ohio license to practice (i.e., LSW or LPC) is required.
- Eligibility for future independent licensure (LISW) is required.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of Pre or post-master's training and experience in working with patients with mental illness and/or substance disorders.
- Experience with completing mental health & crisis assessments, case management, and conducting evidenced-based psychosocial interventions preferred.
