We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team at Republic Services, a leading provider of environmental services. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving strategic growth and operational excellence across our business units.



The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of related accounting or financial experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making. Your expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, will be essential in helping us achieve our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the accounting workflow and providing accounting direction and analytical support to division management. Your key responsibilities will include:





  • Managing accounting and payroll personnel, providing direction to different accounting functional areas, including invoice processing, billing, cash receipts, work order processing, credit analysis, receivable collections, month-end close, journal entries, statistical data, and payroll.

  • Managing financial internal control processes across all business unit functional areas to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley and all other statutory requirements.

  • Ensuring that all internal and external reporting deadlines are met.

  • Managing the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and reviewing financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company policies and procedures.

  • Interviewing, hiring, training, and developing accounting staff at the business unit.

  • Providing analytical support to sales and marketing for customer pricing and profitability analysis, commercial and municipal bids, and any market development projects.

  • Providing the General Manager with financial analytics to support sound and profitable business decisions.

  • Providing accounting direction and analytical support to all departments, as required, within the division (General management, sales, operations, maintenance, customer service, etc.).

  • Managing credit and collection function in an effort to maximize division cash-flow. Ensuring division is in compliance with company credit and stop service policies.

  • Managing the accounting aspects of capital expenditures, transfers, and retirements. Reviewing and approving all related asset management sub-ledger transactions.

  • Supporting and providing financial expertise to the General Manager during the annual budget and interim forecasting process. Managing workflow, timeliness, and analytical review of all budget and forecast data.

  • Managing and providing necessary support to financial audits, including internal audits, external audits, and peer reviews.

  • Providing support and responding to information requests from Corporate (accounting, tax, treasury, IT, HR, sales, environmental compliance, legal, etc.) as well as region and area field financial management as required.

  • Ensuring completion and submission of financial filings and returns required by contractual agreements and government entities (e.g., tax filings, franchise, host, and royalty fees).
