Position Overview: C. Harper Buick/GMC is on the lookout for a talented and committed Automotive Service Specialist to enhance our dynamic team. The successful applicant will have a solid foundation in automotive maintenance, emphasizing accuracy and customer satisfaction. This position entails executing diagnostic evaluations, performing test drives, and competently servicing vehicles to guarantee peak performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive tests on systems and components to ensure their integrity and functionality.
  • Diagnose and isolate systems or components that may be malfunctioning.
  • Conduct test drives to evaluate vehicle performance and check/refill fluid levels as needed.
  • Ensure correct tire pressure, and clean and lubricate fittings as required.
  • Install new oil drain plugs and oil filters, and effectively communicate oil levels to colleagues.
  • Maintain high standards of efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and servicing vehicles.
  • Repair or replace worn components to avert vehicle failures or damage.
  • Utilize power tools, machine tools, and standard hand tools to execute various tasks.
Required Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of automobiles with the capability to swiftly diagnose issues.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with a dedication to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, repair methods, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using electronic diagnostic tools.
  • High School Diploma or GED (mandatory).
  • ASE Certification or Technical degree (preferred).
  • At least one year of experience in a service department (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • State automotive service license (mandatory).
  • Emissions certification (mandatory).
