Position Overview:

As a Research Nurse Coordinator within our Heart, Vascular, and Thoracic Institute, you will play a crucial role in managing and executing human research initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of research projects, ensuring compliance with protocols and timely completion of regulatory documentation.
  • Act as a liaison among investigators, research staff, and external partners to facilitate protocol understanding and address safety inquiries.
  • Utilize nursing expertise to assess research subjects, document findings, and collaborate on care plans.
  • Coordinate ongoing patient care and discharge planning as necessary.
  • Conduct telephone triage and perform nursing procedures as directed.
  • Evaluate and uphold standards of care in line with Cleveland Clinic policies.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Participate in the training and development of educational materials for research protocols.
  • Engage in performance improvement activities and assist with audit preparations.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Four years of clinical experience, with at least two years in a research setting.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • In-depth knowledge of research processes and federal regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform a full range of motion and manual dexterity.
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Exposure to various working conditions, including potential exposure to communicable diseases.
