Position Overview:
As a Research Nurse Coordinator within our Heart, Vascular, and Thoracic Institute, you will play a crucial role in managing and executing human research initiatives. This position demands a skilled multitasker who thrives in a dynamic environment and possesses outstanding communication abilities to navigate various electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of research projects, ensuring compliance with protocols and timely completion of regulatory documentation.
- Act as a liaison among investigators, research staff, and external partners to facilitate protocol understanding and address safety inquiries.
- Utilize nursing expertise to assess research subjects, document findings, and collaborate on care plans.
- Coordinate ongoing patient care and discharge planning as necessary.
- Conduct telephone triage and perform nursing procedures as directed.
- Evaluate and uphold standards of care in line with Cleveland Clinic policies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Participate in the training and development of educational materials for research protocols.
- Engage in performance improvement activities and assist with audit preparations.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Four years of clinical experience, with at least two years in a research setting.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- In-depth knowledge of research processes and federal regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform a full range of motion and manual dexterity.
- Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Exposure to various working conditions, including potential exposure to communicable diseases.
