Job Summary

As a Front Desk Associate, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for verifying their method of payment, answering questions about the hotel and local area, and ensuring a seamless stay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register guests and assign rooms, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of rooms for reservations.
  • Thoroughly understand and adhere to proper credit, check-cashing, and cash-handling policies and procedures.
  • Know room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
  • Promote hotel services and amenities to guests, using suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
  • Work closely with the housekeeping department to maintain accurate room status reports and coordinate maintenance requests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, using proper telephone etiquette and resolving guest concerns in a timely manner.
  • Perform cashiering tasks, including bill settlement, posting charges to guest rooms, and handling paid-outs.
  • Communicate hotel services and amenities to guests, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of our offerings.
  • Obtain proper identification for tax-exempt guests and attach the form to the registration card.
  • Stay informed about daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel, reading and initialing the pass-on log and bulletin board daily.
  • Attend department meetings and report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.

Requirements:

  • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time, as customary in a hotel front office environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED desired.
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment or customer service required.
