Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant operates with significant autonomy in executing financial and accounting tasks for the organization. This role demands robust analytical and critical thinking abilities to navigate complex financial scenarios.

The individual will employ established accounting principles to evaluate financial data and will be accountable for making necessary journal entries and conducting account reconciliations to ensure the preparation of precise and complete financial statements.

Position Level:

Experienced/Senior Staff

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compile, prepare, and analyze Accounts Receivable reconciliations, collaborating with the AR/Credit team to resolve any unusual discrepancies promptly.
  • Compile, prepare, and analyze Bank Reconciliations, working with the Accounting team and/or AR/Credit to address any atypical reconciling items swiftly.
  • Understand and prepare quarterly reserve reconciliation reports.
  • Review, reconcile, and investigate Ecommerce reports against the ERP system.
  • Conduct account reconciliations, account analyses, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
  • Provide backup support for Commission reconciliations as necessary.
  • Prepare complex journal entries with minimal errors.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures in record maintenance.
  • Guarantee that all reporting deadlines are consistently met.
  • Initiate and lead process enhancements related to departmental processes and key reporting requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Document policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned responsibilities.
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned by the department and organization.
  • Safeguard operations by maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a large corporate accounting environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, tackling challenging tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
  • Expected to take ownership of work products and collaborate closely with key functional leaders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strategic and tactical thinking capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems effectively.
  • Exceptional teamwork abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principles.
  • Experience with JDE is a plus.
Education:

Bachelor of Science in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited institution.
