The Role

The Safety and Security Specialist serves as a Brand Ambassador for Global Security Operations, delivering exceptional customer service while fulfilling their responsibilities as part of a dedicated team of security professionals. The incumbent will actively monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring the safety of Fidelity's associates, clients, and assets. This role is essential in providing first responder services during emergencies and may require working various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate business needs.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; equivalent life/work experience (e.g., military service considered)

  • 1-3 years of prior security experience in a customer-focused environment

  • Familiarity with current security technologies and systems

  • Understanding of physical security principles

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships in a business context

  • Detail-oriented with a strong adherence to protocols

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations

  • Willingness to work independently and collaboratively within a larger team

  • Proficient in standard computer applications and capable of learning specialized software

  • Strong work ethic

  • Ability to perform under pressure

The Value You Deliver
  • Conducting thorough patrols on foot or by vehicle within designated areas of responsibility

  • Performing routine inspections, audits, and assessments to ensure the functionality of security equipment and the safety of work environments

  • Utilizing electronic and mechanical devices to monitor, document, and report unusual conditions

  • Engaging with associates, visitors, vendors, and clients in a professional manner while enforcing company policies and standards

  • Providing first responder services during emergencies in a calm and deliberate manner, potentially acting as the primary decision-maker or incident commander

  • Generating accurate reports and records of activities and incidents

  • Utilizing life safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid supplies, and radios as necessary.
