Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree and active APRN licensure required.
  • Experience:
    • Preferred: 10 years of general APRN experience.
    • Required: Background in Gastroenterology.

Role Overview:

1. Perform comprehensive physical assessments and medical evaluations of patients.

2. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory analyses and imaging studies.

3. Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic health conditions.

4. Create and execute personalized care plans tailored to individual patient needs.

5. Prescribe medications and develop treatment protocols.

6. Offer counseling and educational resources to patients and their families.

7. Conduct minor surgical interventions, including suturing and wound management.

8. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care.

9. Monitor and oversee chronic health issues, such as diabetes and hypertension.

10. Advocate for disease prevention and health promotion through patient education initiatives.

11. Engage in clinical research and maintain current knowledge of healthcare advancements.

12. Supervise and mentor healthcare staff, including registered nurses and medical assistants.

13. Participate in quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.

14. Uphold legal and ethical standards in patient care while ensuring confidentiality.

15. Accurately document patient interactions, medical histories, and treatment plans.
