Position Overview

The role entails providing comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services under the guidance of a supervising physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather patient medical history and conduct thorough assessments through observation, interviews, and examinations.
  • Order, execute, and analyze diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Administer direct treatment and manage health conditions, utilizing prescriptive authority or referring patients to other healthcare professionals or community resources.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding preventive health measures, treatment alternatives, and available community resources.
  • May conduct preventive health evaluations, screenings, immunizations, and care as required.
  • Ensure precise and timely documentation of patient assessments and care plans.
  • May assist with patient registration tasks, including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, and payment information.
  • May provide assistance in surgical settings.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies is required upon hire OR
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is required upon hire.
  • No prior experience is necessary.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Kentucky is required upon hire AND
  • NCCPA - National Physician Assistant certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is required upon hire.
