We are seeking an experienced Machinist with advanced technical expertise to join our team at Shipyard Staffing LLC in Norfolk, VA. Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the trade and possess excellent reading comprehension skills to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents. They will be responsible for selecting, setting up, and operating appropriate tools for various tasks, as well as maintaining and repairing machinery such as lathes, bridge port millers, and horizontal millers.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading, heat treating, and shrinkage techniques
  • Experience with measuring tools, machine tools, and hoisting and rigging equipment
  • Ability to maintain and repair complex machinery, including gear cutting and engine maintenance
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, including confined space practices and oil spill response
