Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Precision Machinist to join our team at Lyon Shipyard Inc. as an Industrial Equipment Specialist. This role involves operating and maintaining various machine tools, performing repairs and modifications, and ensuring the quality of machined parts.

About the Role

As a Precision Machinist - Industrial Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses. You will also perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, inspect and test machined parts, and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and adjustment.
  • Inspect and test machined parts to ensure they meet quality and accuracy standards.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve technical issues and improve equipment performance.
  • Document work performed, including repair histories and quality control records.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in precision machining and maintenance, preferably in an industrial or shipyard environment.
  • Strong knowledge of machine tool operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
