Job SummaryThis position involves preparing and assembling fabricated components and materials in accordance with customer quality requirements and United Alloy's manufacturing philosophies. Key responsibilities include:
- Inspecting products according to Inspection Control Plans
- Accurately tagging materials and products according to product specifications
- Identifying hardware components used in assemblies
- Computing decimal equivalents and interchange fractions
- Accurately counting and recording production activity, including picking and transfers
- FOLLOWING WRITTEN AND VERBAL DIRECTIONS TO COMPLETE ASSIGNMENTS OR JOBS
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Some exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
- The ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measures, calipers, basic hand tools, and air tools
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Completed forklift certification training with the safety team to operate a forklift
- The ability to record time accurately using the data collection system
- The ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist
This role requires the ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods. You will also need to be able to work in a manufacturing environment with high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease.
