Position Overview

The Fleet Accounting Specialist is a detail-oriented, collaborative, and highly motivated team member responsible for managing the dynamic compliance needs of our organization, including accounting, fleet management, and internal controls.

Flexibility is crucial in our fast-paced and evolving environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Execute daily transactions related to company fleet and fixed assets, including the capitalization of new assets, disposals, depreciation, and sales.
  • Oversee month-end close activities for fleet operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll-forwards.
  • Analyze repair and maintenance accounts for capitalizable items.
  • Review sales orders for appropriate sales taxation.
  • Collaborate with the Parts team to resolve work order issues during capitalization.
  • Upload fleet transactions into accounting software for tax depreciation.
  • Process parts sales and customer invoices.
  • Notify vendors of units disposed from the fleet care program.
  • Maintain accurate listings of business personal property for insurance purposes.
  • Prepare files for annual machinery appraisals related to compliance.
  • Provide performance analysis by collecting and presenting key reports to management.
  • Assist in audit engagements with external tax advisors and audit staff.
  • Cross-train and serve as backup for team members as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office setting.
  • Strong team player with effective interaction skills across all business units.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with accounting software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
