Medical Assistant I

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant I to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a Medical Assistant I, you will provide clinical office support to physicians and surgeons, and perform patient care and administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Patient Care: Assist with patient flow, accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms, and perform various patient care tasks as assigned.
- Clerical Duties: Manage patient medical records, complete forms and requisitions, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Management: Enter orders into the EMR system and prepare prescription refill requests for physician review and approval.
- Inventory and Supply Management: Inventory, order, and restock medical supplies as needed.
- Examination Room Setup: Set up examination rooms and instruments according to proper sterilization techniques.
- Logging and Maintenance: Maintain logging systems for refrigeration of medications, point of care testing, and other equipment.
- Quality and Safety: Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Administrative Support: Assist with appointment scheduling, registration, and updating patient demographic and insurance information.
We are seeking a Medical Assistant I with a High School Diploma/GED and completion of a Medical Assistant certificate program from an approved school or equivalent training and experience. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is preferred.
