Additionally, the role involves routine tasks related to the collection and upkeep of patient demographics and insurance details.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exemplary customer service by effectively managing the intake, prioritization, and resolution of patient inquiries for a multi-specialty team.
- Welcome patients and assist in addressing their concerns or inquiries.
- Facilitate patient check-in and check-out processes, collect co-payments, issue receipts, and reconcile payments while ensuring the accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information in the system.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling, complete patient registration, and maintain a high standard of service delivery.
- Support the management of physician schedules and identify areas for operational enhancement. Handle patient/provider communications as directed.
- Process and monitor referrals and authorizations across various insurance categories.
- Oversee patient care flow and assist in managing message pools and standard workflows.
- Continuously evaluate personal workflow to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Clarify policies, procedures, or services to patients utilizing administrative expertise.
- Engage in daily team huddles and staff meetings.
- Adhere to and promote infection prevention standards along with all departmental policies and procedures.
- Execute lobby PSR responsibilities across all outpatient departments, requiring familiarity with various electronic functionalities and specific knowledge related to the clinic.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience as a Patient Service Representative in an outpatient medical office environment is preferred.
