Core Responsibilities

Oversee advanced accounting and reporting tasks while managing daily finance operations. Execute month-end journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and maintain ongoing grant financial reporting and billing. Handle payroll processing and prepare comprehensive financial statements along with in-depth analysis. Participate in quarterly and annual accounting processes, including year-end closing, audits, and budgeting. Ensure compliance with regulations through diligent grant financial oversight and reporting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of senior-level experience in a non-profit environment, with a thorough understanding of finance team operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, grants, and general accounting.
  • Proven ability to perform job responsibilities independently with minimal oversight.
  • Capacity to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and practices.
  • Preferred knowledge of federal and state grant regulations and requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to deliver timely and professional support to both internal and external financial information users.
Experience Required
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and business practices, evidenced by high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of federal and state grant regulatory requirements, including budget management and reporting.
  • Familiarity with the Abila MIP accounting system.
  • Adept at analyzing complex accounting processes and recommending improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to oversee daily departmental tasks and collaborate effectively with other organizational areas.
  • Capability to work under pressure with tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
