Job Title: Associate Director, Epidemiology Bacterial Vaccines

GSK is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead our Epidemiology team in the development of bacterial vaccines. As a key member of our Global Epidemiology, Vaccines team, you will drive epidemiology strategy and studies across the spectrum of vaccine development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an epidemiology plan aligned to the vaccine development strategy.
  • Improve disease understanding relevant to vaccine development, including incidence, prevalence, risk factors, and natural history.
  • Support and advise on Real World Evidence strategies.
  • Contribute to vaccine safety evaluation, including background event rates and meta-analyses.
  • Propose and lead post-marketing activities, including epidemiology studies for safety surveillance and inference.
  • Critically appraise existing epidemiology evidence and create new evidence through research plans and analysis of healthcare databases.
  • Develop strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to meet product needs.
  • Plan resource allocation to accomplish multiple research projects and attain project timelines.
  • Identify innovative methods to conduct epidemiologic studies.
  • Negotiate internal funding of projects.
  • Develop and negotiate research plans with external collaborators.
  • Communicate study findings to internal and external audiences.
  • Input into regulatory submission documents and represent the function to regulatory agencies.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in epidemiology or a relevant discipline, or a clinical degree with a master's in epidemiology and experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic research.
  • Experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic research programs in a vaccine development environment.
  • Expertise in infectious disease epidemiology and research, including disease causative agent, transmission, and progression aspects.
