Key Responsibilities- Develop and review safety data packages for the HALO Module
- Provide technical support to HALO subsystems for safety requirements and data packages
- Support Safety Review Panel review activities
- Perform preliminary assessments of HALO module and subsystem safety data packages
- Track and process DSG SRP action items and safety verifications
- Upload documentation in NASA databases
- Assess safety analyses and safety compliance data packages
- Support safety review meetings as Operations Safety panel expert
- Review implementation of entries in the NASA Operations Control Agreement Database
- Support NASA in reviewing DSG Change Requests relevant to Safety requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering with 8 years of experience or Master's Degree with 6 years of experience
- Relevant experience in the design and engineering of safety-critical systems
- Hands-on knowledge of safety analyses and methodologies
- Experience in human spaceflight safety with emphasis on DSG and/or ISS safety requirements and processes
- Flight safety analysis experience
- Knowledge of DSG and/or ISS systems, subsystems, and payloads, as well as DSG and/or ISS safety requirements and their implementation
- Extended understanding of hazards intrinsic to a system and/or induced by space operations, and the way they are eliminated or controlled
- Guidance, navigation, and control analysis, including trajectory and mission simulation and design
- Knowledge of the way safety data are generated, validated, and retained in support of the DSG and/or ISS program safety certification
- Knowledge of Configuration Management
- Familiarity with space product assurance practices
- Capacity to handle complex situations and complex environments
- Extensive knowledge of system safety engineering principles, methods, and processes
- Knowledge of NASA safety certification process, including verification methods and procedures
- Knowledge of ISS operations environment
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $114,900 - $199,600, as well as a discretionary bonus and a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
