- Improve departmental performance through detailed analysis of shipping costs, carrier operations, procedural evaluations, and innovative strategies.
- Oversee daily operational tasks, follow-ups, and client interactions within the Import division.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage invoicing procedures for ocean carriers and suppliers.
- Handle visibility reporting, validation of freight invoices, claims management, load planning, and import logistics analysis.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, NVOCC, and ocean carriers to ensure high service standards.
- Examine data trends related to freight availability, carrier dependability, and shipping expenses.
- Collaborate with the Import team to enhance service levels, improve supply chain efficiency, and minimize costs.
- Propose improvements to current processes and procedures.
Specific Responsibilities
- Oversee invoicing from ocean carriers and suppliers.
- Ensure accurate account statements for external vendors.
- Coordinate the flow of imported goods from international sources to distribution centers.
- Manage transportation costs by supervising goods handling and routing.
- Monitor seasonal and promotional merchandise, provide updates to buyers, and prioritize loading and shipping.
- Analyze performance KPIs to ensure service expectations are met.
- Address performance issues and drive efficiency improvements through stakeholder discussions.
- Complete additional analysis, reporting, projects, and assignments as directed by the Import management team.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and strong multitasking skills to meet deadlines.
