The selected candidate will act as a Records Management Officer, overseeing the safeguarding and organization of critical institutional records that hold significant historical, fiscal, and legal importance. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies regarding records management.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to record-keeping standards for VHA documentation.
- Develop and implement metrics, dashboards, and audits to monitor the effectiveness of the records management program.
- Maintain an up-to-date master inventory of records and a comprehensive file plan for the Health Care System.
- Conduct regular internal audits and reviews of records management practices across various service lines.
- Design and apply professional organizing strategies to enhance file system efficiency across diverse storage environments.
- Provide ongoing training to staff on records management best practices, ensuring all personnel are proficient in the handling of records.
- Guide end-users in utilizing inventory and file plan systems effectively.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on litigation holds, ensuring the integrity and availability of relevant records.
- Advise on the management and disposition of documents not covered by approved Systems of Records.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Telework Options: The role may allow for telework arrangements, subject to discussion during the interview process.
Position Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after December 31, 1959.
- Background/security investigation may be necessary.
- Participation in health-related vaccination programs is a requirement for all personnel.

Specialized Experience: Candidates should possess relevant experience or education that demonstrates their capability to fulfill the responsibilities of this position effectively.
