Position Overview:
Are you interested in making a significant impact in the lives of children with autism? The New England Center for Children (NECC) is seeking dedicated individuals who are committed to enhancing the independence of our students.


Work Schedule:
Flexible shifts of 3–5 days per week, totaling 40 hours, primarily during evenings and overnight hours (including sleep segments during overnight shifts).


Role Responsibilities:
As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will engage in our residential program, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to guide students in essential curriculum areas such as:
- Communication skills
- Social interaction
- Daily living activities (e.g., personal hygiene)
- Vocational training
- Adaptive physical education
- Self-preservation techniques

Your responsibilities will also include maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students and performing general household tasks.


Additionally, you will receive training in:
- Medication administration (MAP)
- Student transportation
- Techniques for verbal and physical de-escalation of challenging behaviors (CALM training)

This training will empower our students to effectively express their needs, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and support their overall well-being.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A genuine willingness to assist students exhibiting challenging behaviors
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide clear verbal instructions
- Valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle
- Completion of CPR training through NECC within the first 6 months of employment
- Successful completion of NECC training in Physical and Verbal De-escalation (CALM) and Medication Administration (MAP Certification)
