Position Overview: The role involves direct support, guidance, and oversight of individuals within the assigned team or caseload. Rehabilitation Counselors (ABA Therapists) are responsible for delivering instruction through the application of behavior analysis principles (ABA therapy) throughout various settings and times. This includes a thorough understanding and execution of the individuals' clinical, educational, vocational, and daily living skills objectives. The position requires flexibility to work in both educational and residential environments during day, evening, and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and effective implementation of all individuals' programs and behavior management strategies across residential, educational, vocational, and community settings, either in a one-on-one or small group format.
  • Apply behavior analytic techniques based on ABA principles across various domains, including communication, daily living activities, social skills, vocational training, leisure activities, physical education, and community safety.
  • Ensure the safety of all individuals and adhere to established safety protocols in response to challenging behaviors.
  • Accurately document and compile necessary data related to behavioral, educational, vocational, and daily living skills in a timely manner.
  • Assist with personal hygiene and health-related needs of individuals.
  • Administer medications and accompany individuals to medical appointments as required.
  • Fulfill all role responsibilities, which may include case management tasks depending on the specific position.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (equivalent to a US 4-year degree).
  • Possession of a current driver's license with the ability to obtain a valid Massachusetts driver's license.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with special needs.
  • Preferred experience in applied behavior analysis.
  • Seeking a full-time role with the ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Physically, mentally, and emotionally equipped to manage all aspects of the position.
  • Successful completion of NECC training, including CALM (non-violent self-defense), which encompasses protective holds, movements, and carries, as well as the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
